The Project
about
As a relatively new, constantly changing and evolving sport Roller Derby is facing a lot of challenges. Especially when it comes to the documentation and preparation of trainings, it often seems like teams and leagues haven't found the right recipe yet to safely store and share their coaching knowledge.
Practice and drill documentations get lost in handwritten notes, in google sheets of all forms imaginable or in the abyss of coaches' smartphones.
While many other widely popular sports have developed digital tools to help their coaches and players organize trainings Roller Derby is still on the search.
This is where OK Drills! steps in.
The web-based app is build to serve the community of Roller Derby to efficiently collect, structure and share training and coaching knowledge. All drills and team practices can be documented and accessed in one place.
The free version lets you search for existing drills in the database and add your own.
With the option to share practice notes publicly the app becomes a platform which is not only serving the individual needs of teams and leagues but also the sport itself.
In the full version, you have access to advanced features. You can assemble drills to a full Roller Derby practice, add your notes or new drills.
During practice, OK Drills! is your all-in-one training assistand. Simply go to your prepared practice and start the playmode - tested on sweaty hands with wristguards! ;)
In order to grow the thing we love most, we want roller derby knowledge to be visible and accessible for as many people as possible. Together we are creating okay roller derby drills and great ones...
The people
Hey everyone we are Mel (Ruff Times #18), Doris (The Smackretary #42), Romina (Iron Ass #08) and Eva (Bitch Buchannon #87) and are the team behind OK Drills! We are a group of derby players from Europe based in Vienna/Austria.
As coaches and players of Vienna Roller Derby we are having years of experience within the Roller Derby world. For the realization of the app we founded an association, which acts completely independently. We teamed up with the developers of Number One Solutions to bring OK Drills! to life.
